Electro hydraulic compact power pack - in safety brakesfor bucket wheel excavators

Safety brakes are used in hoisting gears at bucket wheel excavators. Installed directly at the rope drum, they have to stop the bucket wheel boom in case of emergency. Our solution was installed together with our long term OEM - customer ROMINEX as a part of an excavator modernisation in the opencast mine Rosia / Romania. The engineering was occurred based on a project of ROMINEX. The brake calipers supplied by company SIBRE apply the brake torque of 320.000 Nm to the 2700mm brake disc! The HKA-power pack is install directly on the safety brake console and supply the brake with working pressure even under hard working conditions with vibrations, dust, humidity a.s.o. The design of this complete solution is including all long term experiences of EMG in open pit mining equipment.
